[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon] KOSDAQ-listed company #Hanpass is seeing continued growth in key user metrics, driven by the expansion of its foreign resident financial services platform.
Hanpass announced on the 4th that its monthly active users (MAU) reached 482,000 as of the end of May, a 26.5% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, monthly paying users (MAPU) rose by 15.8% to 205,000. Looking at monthly trends, MAU has steadily increased from 421,000 in January to 426,000 in February, 434,000 in March, 466,000 in April, and 482,000 in May. MAPU also expanded from 179,000 in January to 205,000 in May, surpassing the 200,000 mark.
Actual transaction metrics are also improving. The total number of monthly remittance transactions continued its upward trend, reaching 467,000 in March, 475,000 in April, and 521,000 in May. This indicates that the increase in users is not merely limited to an expansion of the subscriber base but is leading to an increase in actual financial transactions.
Hanpass is a company that provides international money transfer services to foreign workers, international students, and others. Leveraging its proprietary IT infrastructure and international money transfer network, it offers money transfer services to over 200 countries worldwide and is expanding its business scope to include mobile wallets, prepaid cards, and payment services.
Recently, the company has been moving away from a business structure centered on international money transfers and is pushing for a transition into a comprehensive lifestyle financial platform by strengthening its payment, top-up, and mobile financial services.
A company official stated, “While remittances are the primary service that introduces foreign customers to Hanpass, recently, both customer acquisition and payment usage have expanded simultaneously, increasing the overall utilization of the platform.” The official added, “We will continue to grow into a lifestyle finance platform that encompasses all aspects of foreign customers’ daily lives.”
