[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon] The KOSPI, which opened lower, continues to trade down by more than 1% in the afternoon.

According to MP Doctor on the 7th, as of 1:43 p.m. today, the KOSPI is trading at 8,704.24, down 97.25 points (1.10%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 8,623.82, down 2.02% from the previous close, and has been on a downward trend. It even fell as low as 8,577.30 during the session.

Currently, foreign investors are the sole net sellers in the stock market, with net sales totaling 5.6908 trillion won. In contrast, retail investors and institutions are net buyers, with net purchases of 4.1395 trillion won and 1.4195 trillion won, respectively. Program trading shows a net selling bias of 3.6248 trillion won, combining both arbitrage and non-arbitrage trades.

Sector-wise, the market is mixed, with telecommunications down by around 6%. Insurance and IT services are falling by around 5%. Following these, the electrical/electronics, food/beverage/tobacco, manufacturing, real estate, transportation equipment/parts, pharmaceuticals, general services, transportation/warehousing, and textiles/apparel sectors are also down. Conversely, the retail sector is up by over 8%, and medical/precision instruments, securities, electricity/gas, chemicals, construction, machinery/equipment, entertainment/culture, finance, metals, paper/wood, and non-metals are also rising.

Among the top market cap stocks, #Samsung Electronics is trading at 357,750 won, down 2,750 won (0.76%) from the previous trading day. #SK Hynix is trading at 2,297,000 won, down 53,000 won (2.67%). In addition, #Hyundai Motor (-4.94%), #Samsung Electro-Mechanics (-2.74%), #Samsung Electro-Mechanics (-3.31%), #LG Energy Solution (-3.95%), #Samsung Life Insurance (-12.29%), #HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (-3.12%), and #Kia (-1.84%) are all trading lower.

At the same time, the KOSDAQ market is trading at 1,055.19, up 29.24 points (2.84%) from the previous trading day. By investor type, foreign and institutional investors are net buyers of 8.4 billion won and 233.8 billion won, respectively. Retail investors are the only net sellers, offloading 235.6 billion won.

Top-cap stocks are mixed. #EcoProBM (1.01%), #EcoPro (2.98%), #Juseong Engineering (24.94%), #Kolon TissueGene (0.83%), #Rino Industrial (7.17%), #SamchundangPharmaceuticals (3.97%), and #HLB (1.34%) are showing strength, while #Alteogen (-1.40%) and #RainbowRobotics (-4.98%) are declining.
