[Edaily Reporter Shin Su-jeong] #Samlip announced on the 5th that its Sejong Center, a flour production and processing plant, has become the first facility in the domestic flour milling industry to obtain global HACCP certification. The certification covers five categories, including premixes such as flour, fortified flour, processed grain products, other processed products, and processed sugar products.
Global HACCP is a food safety management system introduced by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in August of last year. It operates with a total of 152 items, adding 72 global evaluation criteria—including food defense, prevention of food fraud, food safety culture, and food safety management systems—to the existing HACCP standards.
The Samlip Sejong Center operates a quality and hygiene management system across all processes, from raw material receipt to production, storage, and shipment. In 2022, it received halal certification for its flour production line from JAKIM, the official halal certification body under Malaysia’s Ministry of Islamic Development.
Samlip is also expanding its overseas exports. Last year, the company exported approximately 725 tons of products, including flour and premixes for noodles, donuts, and hot dogs, to Hong Kong, Europe, and the United States. It plans to increase its export volume to 3,000 tons by 2027.
A Samlip official stated, “Following last year’s halal certification, the Sejong Center has now obtained global HACCP certification, further solidifying the foundation for strengthening our global business,” adding, “We will continue to supply excellent products to domestic and international customers based on our rigorous quality and hygiene management systems.”
Meanwhile, Samlip’s Seocheon Plant, which produces meat products, also became the first in the ham and sausage sector to obtain Global HACCP certification last March.
