[Edaily Reporter Park Jeong-soo] #NextBioMedical announced on the 5th that its major ongoing clinical trials are being conducted at numerous medical institutions included in Newsweek’s “World’s Best Hospitals 2026” list.
According to the company, 22 of the hospitals conducting the trials (four in Korea and 18 overseas) are ranked among the top 250 in the world. Of these, 12 are ranked within the top 100.
The U.S. multi-center clinical trial for its flagship product, the endoscopic hemostatic agent "Nexpowder," was conducted at the Cleveland Clinic (ranked 3rd globally) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (ranked 18th). This study was the first U.S. multi-center trial to evaluate the efficacy of Nexpowder in preventing delayed bleeding following endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of the gastrointestinal tract, confirming its potential to prevent rebleeding.
Nexpowder has already obtained regulatory approvals from major authorities, including the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the U.S. FDA, the European CE-MDR, and Japan’s PMDA. The company is continuing post-marketing clinical trials to gather additional clinical evidence.
A registry clinical trial for the intravascular embolization prosthesis 'Nexsphere-F' is scheduled to take place at Charité Hospital in Germany, ranked as the world’s 8th best hospital. The goal is to collect data on various joint indications in a real-world clinical setting involving approximately 500 patients.
Collaboration with world-class medical institutions is also continuing in Korea. A clinical study on patients with uterine fibroids, published in the international journal 'Radiology,' was conducted at Severance Hospital, and post-marketing clinical trials for Nexsphere-F are currently underway at Seoul National University Hospital and Konkuk University Hospital, among others.
A company representative stated, “Conducting clinical trials at institutions equipped with world-class medical staff and research infrastructure is highly significant in terms of product reliability and competitiveness,” adding, “We will expand our collaboration with global medical institutions to continuously accumulate highly reliable clinical data.”
