Internet of Things Convergence Forum Holds ‘2026 Annual General Meeting’… “Leading IoT Standardization in the Era of AI Convergence”

[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah] The ‘Internet of Things Convergence Forum (Chairman Myung Yu-jae)’ announced that it successfully held its ‘2026 Annual General Meeting’ at L Tower in Seoul on the 5th.
Operated through the Korea Information and Communications Technology Association (TTA)’s “ICT Standardization Forum Support Project,” the Internet of Things Convergence Forum is a leading organization where domestic and international experts from industry, academia, and research institutions in the IoT field gather to engage in active standardization activities.
The general meeting was attended by approximately 30 people, including executives and employees from forum member companies and representatives from related organizations. Participants shared their views on the future direction of the forum and agreed to further strengthen the cooperative framework among industry, academia, and research experts amid the rapidly changing ICT environment.

CEO Cho delivered a lecture titled “The Future of Healthcare Wearable Robots and Physical AI,” which was met with a warm response from attendees. He provided in-depth insights, emphasizing the changes in daily life that the convergence of robotics and AI technology will bring, as well as the need for future IoT standardization.
Myeong Yu-jae, Executive Vice President of KT and Chairman of the Internet of Things Convergence Forum, reiterated the importance of next-generation IoT technology at the general meeting.
He stated, “Driven by the recent emergence and explosive growth of generative AI and Physical AI, the importance of IoT—the underlying technology—is increasing day by day.” He added, “Moving forward, our forum will continue to take the lead in promoting IoT standards and discovering new services, and we will actively strive to support close collaboration among member companies.”
