[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah] #SK Telecom is looking for the owners of 10,000 “Gold Numbers” that are easy to remember and hold special meaning.

SK Telecom is launching the “2026 Gold Number Promotion” and will accept applications from the 8th to the 21st.

Gold Numbers refer to numbers with specific digit patterns, such as 1111, 0002, or 3000; numbers where the area code and the last digits are the same (e.g., ABCD-ABCD); numbers with repeating digits (AAAA-type); or numbers with special meanings, such as 1004 or 1472. They are highly preferred by users because they are easy to remember and can hold personal significance.

A total of 10,000 Gold Numbers will be offered through this promotion. The available numbers are categorized into nine types, and each applicant may apply for up to three numbers.

Eligible applicants include not only existing SK Telecom subscribers but also prospective new subscribers and customers of other carriers or MVNOs who are planning to port their numbers.

Customers wishing to participate can apply through official SK Telecom authorized dealers and T Direct Shop from June 8 to 21. The results will be available starting June 25.

To ensure fairness, the gold number lottery will be conducted randomly under the supervision of the Preferred Number Lottery Committee, which consists of representatives from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA).

Winners will be notified via individual text message and must complete the number registration process at an official SK Telecom authorized dealer or T Direct Shop between June 29 and July 17.

However, winning Gold Numbers cannot be transferred to others, and customers who are currently using a Gold Number or have a history of being assigned a Gold Number in the past are not eligible to enter this draw.
