[Edaily Reporter Lee Hye-ra] #NOTA announced on the 8th that it has been selected as a participating company in the “Demonstration and Dissemination of Environmentally Adaptive, Multi-Purpose On-Device AI-Based Urban Safety Networks” project, part of the “2026 On-Device AI Service Demonstration and Dissemination Project” led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).

This project has a budget of approximately 10.7 billion won. With Chungnam Technopark serving as the lead agency, Nota will participate as part of a consortium formed with Chungcheongnam-do Province and Cheonan City.
The project will target key areas in Cheonan City—such as rivers, underpasses, riverside roads, and high-crime areas—where disaster and public safety responses are critical. The goal is to utilize sensor data and CCTV footage from these locations to detect disaster and public safety situations, such as flooding, vehicle intrusions, and suspicious behavior, at an early stage.
In this project, NOTA is responsible for developing a Vision-Language Model (VLM)-based multi-hazard detection AI model and optimizing the on-device environment. By leveraging its AI model lightweighting and optimization platform, ‘Netzpresso,’ the company plans to optimize the Vision-Language Model (VLM) for the Mobilint NPU environment and implement an AI solution capable of rapidly recognizing various risk factors in urban safety settings.
The core of the project is to expand the existing urban monitoring structure—which relies on central servers and monitoring personnel—into a field-centric intelligent response system. By enabling AI terminals to directly recognize hazardous situations and support immediate responses through integration with on-site equipment such as circuit breakers, electronic display boards, and speakers, the system can help secure the “golden time” during disaster incidents. Additionally, by processing sensitive data—such as CCTV footage—on-site, the system reduces the impact of communication delays and network failures while enhancing security and privacy protection.
Notta plans to use this selection as an opportunity to contribute to the establishment of a disaster safety response model that can be expanded to local governments nationwide in the future.
Chae Myeong-su, CEO of Nota, stated, “This project is a significant example of on-device AI being applied to public infrastructure directly linked to citizen safety,” adding, “Based on our on-device AI optimization technology, Nota will contribute to the implementation of an urban safety network capable of quickly recognizing and responding to disaster situations on-site.”
