Naver surges over 10% on NVIDIA AI Factory partnership… Appears on ‘Chijijik’ following ‘Samso Meeting’ [Featured Stocks]

[Edaily Reporter Park Soon-yeop] Naver is trading higher on news that it is pursuing the construction of a gigawatt (GW)-scale mega artificial intelligence (AI) factory with NVIDIA. Following the so-called “Samso meeting” between NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Naver Board Chairman Lee Hae-jin, cooperation between the two companies has taken shape. This, combined with the nomination of Han Sung-sook, Minister of SMEs and Startups, as a candidate for Prime Minister, has reignited interest in Naver’s AI and platform capabilities.
According to MP Doctor on the 8th, as of 2:52 a.m. today, Naver (#NAVER) is trading at 283,500 won, up 28,000 won (10.96%) from the previous trading day.

The market views this as a reflection of expectations for Naver’s expansion into new businesses—such as AI factories, cloud services, and physical AI—as the company emerges as a key partner in NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure.
Naver announced today that it has agreed with NVIDIA on a joint global AI Factory project and will gradually expand its AI infrastructure business, starting with the launch of a 55MW (megawatt) facility in 2027. The company plans to pursue the construction of GW-scale infrastructure in the long term.
An AI Factory refers to next-generation AI infrastructure designed to train and run large-scale AI models and apply them to actual services and industrial settings. Naver explains that this collaboration is a partnership encompassing the entire AI infrastructure value chain—including identifying global demand, building infrastructure, and capital cooperation—going beyond the simple supply of graphics processing units (GPUs).
Naver will utilize “Gak Sejong,” South Korea’s largest hyperscale data center, as the base for this initiative. The strategy involves starting with the launch of a 55MW-scale facility in the first half of 2027, followed by an expansion to 100MW in the same year and 200MW by 2028.
Chairman Lee and CEO Hwang are scheduled to meet this afternoon at 1784, Naver’s second headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, to discuss the AI Factory business roadmap and plans for joint entry into global markets. Following their meeting over pork belly and soju at a restaurant near Hongdae in Seoul on the 5th, CEO Hwang will also appear alongside Chairman Lee on a special live broadcast on Naver’s streaming platform, ‘Chijichik,’ later today.
In political circles, attention is also focused on the nomination of Han Sung-sook, Minister of SMEs and Startups, as a candidate for Prime Minister. As a business executive who previously served as CEO of Naver, Candidate Han is credited with expanding Naver’s business scope—which had been centered on search and advertising—to include commerce, content, and global services during her tenure.
