[Edaily Reporter Park Jeong-soo] #ENCell, a company specializing in cell and gene therapy (CGT), is partnering with Andelin Biosciences, a U.S.-based CGT contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), to target the North American and Asian markets.

ENCell announced on the 9th that it has commenced joint sales activities with Andelin Biosciences targeting the North American and Asian markets. The two companies recently participated in the "ASGCT Annual Meeting 2026," the world's largest cell and gene therapy conference held in Boston, U.S., where they held a partnership kick-off meeting and discussed collaboration strategies.
Andelin is a CDMO company specializing in the development, analysis, and production of viral vectors for gene therapies, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. It has experience producing over 500 cGMP clinical batches and has supported 80 global clinical trials, including the AAV-based gene therapies "Zolgensma" and "Elevidys."
The two companies plan to enhance their ability to serve global customers by combining Andelin’s capabilities in gene therapy and viral vector development and production with ENCELL’s experience in cell and gene therapy development and production, as well as its domestic clinical infrastructure.
Key areas of cooperation include joint promotion, customer data development, mutual benchmarking in process development (PD), manufacturing, and analysis, and the formulation of strategies for utilizing clinical trials and investigator-initiated trials (IITs) in North America and Asia.
In particular, they are exploring the possibility of linking domestic clinical trials for North American clients seeking to ensure racial diversity and expand clinical trial regions in late-stage clinical trials. E-Ncell plans to support expansion into the Asian market by leveraging Korea’s advanced regenerative medicine infrastructure and network of major hospitals.
The two companies also plan to expand joint client meetings and networking activities centered around major global conferences such as BIO USA, CSGCT, and the Cell & Gene Meeting on the Mesa (MESA).
According to market research firms, the global cell and gene therapy CDMO market is projected to grow to approximately $30 billion (about 40 trillion won) by 2030. Among these regions, the Asia-Pacific region is expected to expand the fastest, with an average annual growth rate of about 29%.
An E-Cell representative stated, “This ASGCT kick-off meeting marks the starting point for translating our strategic partnership with Andelin into concrete efforts to acquire global clients and foster business collaboration.” They added, “By combining Andelin’s gene therapy capabilities with E-Cell’s clinical and manufacturing competitiveness in the Asia-Pacific region, we will establish a global CGT CDMO partnership framework connecting North America and Asia.”
