(Photo = Hyundai Home Shopping) Hyundai Home Shopping announced on the 9th that it is conducting an “E-Waste Resource Recycling Campaign” through its official online mall, Hyundai H Mall, until the 30th, offering free collection and recycling of discarded home appliances. The campaign aims to enhance customer convenience by providing free collection of discarded appliances while contributing to resource recycling. Customers who participate in the campaign will also receive shopping credits.
Items eligible for collection range from large appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines to small appliances such as humidifiers and monitors. Collection requests can be made for at least one large appliance or at least five small appliances. However, certain special appliances—such as custom-made built-in appliances or massage chairs—as well as non-appliance items like discarded furniture are excluded from the collection.
Customers wishing to participate can simply enter “Waste Appliance Collection” in the search bar of the Hyundai H Mall mobile app or website to request a pickup on their preferred date. The waste appliance collection is conducted through “E-Circular Governance,” a government-approved non-profit public interest corporation, and customers whose collection is successfully completed will receive 3,000 won in store credit (one time per person) redeemable at Hyundai H Mall.
Hyundai Home Shopping is also continuing its offline resource recycling activities. In partnership with E-Circular Governance and the Korea Climate & Environment Network, the company has installed and is operating dedicated collection bins for small and medium-sized waste appliances at approximately 1,500 apartment complexes nationwide. In conjunction with this initiative, the company plans to hold the “Competition for Apartment Complexes with Excellent Waste Appliance Collection Bin Operations” through August.
