Uirobotics Wins Grand Prize and Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award at WFT26
Recognition of Competitiveness in Smart Cooking and Food Tech Automation
Development of Ultrasonic Cooking Technology and Cooking Robot Solutions
Expanding Business into the Smart Farming and Agricultural Robotics Sectors
[Edaily Reporter Shin Young-bin] #Unirobo has been recognized for its robot-based smart cooking and agricultural automation technologies, winning both the top prize and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award at a food tech event.
Unirobootics announced on the 9th that it had won both the Grand Prize, the event’s highest honor, and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award in the Special Prize category at the ‘WFT26 ConfEx’ event. Kim Dong-hyun, CEO of Uil Robotics, is receiving the Grand Prize, the event’s highest honor, at the ‘WFT26 ConfEx’ event. (Photo = Uil Robotics) WFT26 ConfEx is an event aimed at establishing a global cooperation platform and creating value to solve food-related issues—such as population, climate, food, and health crises—in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).
Unirobootics explained that this award recognizes its capabilities in food tech robot automation, spanning from food production to smart cooking systems. The company also plans to participate in building a global cooperation platform that applies AI and robot automation.
Building on its existing industrial technologies—including industrial Cartesian robots, collaborative robots, articulated robots, and smart factory automation—used in manufacturing, Unique Robotics is expanding its business into robot-based smart farming and food tech.
In particular, the company is developing technologies applicable to cooking processes—such as ultrasonic fryers, washers, and cooking pots based on ultrasonic technology—to improve cooking quality and taste. Leveraging its robot manufacturing capabilities, it is also advancing cooking automation solutions, including cooking robots capable of handling heavy ingredients, intuitive user interfaces (UI/UX), space optimization tailored to kitchen environments, and precision dispensers.
Robot-based cooking automation models are also being implemented in school meal settings. Through a pilot project with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, Yool Robotics is operating a model that reduces the workload of kitchen staff and jointly prepares handmade fried foods to supply to nearby schools. The company explained that this initiative is simultaneously improving cooking efficiency and student satisfaction with school meals.
The company is also expanding its technological applications into the fields of agricultural robots and smart agriculture. Yool Robotics recently signed a business agreement with the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences under the Rural Development Administration to commercialize agricultural robots, and is pursuing joint research on core technologies that link on-site agricultural needs with robot technology, as well as field verification and commercialization cooperation.
In particular, the company is participating in the development of intelligent multi-robot collaboration technology to optimize logistics for open-field fruit orchards, with plans to expand into fields linking agricultural robots, smart agriculture, and smart farms in the future.
Yooil Robotics intends to strengthen its position as a company that applies AI robot automation technology across the entire food tech value chain, from ingredient production and food development to food and beverage preparation and processing.
The company stated, “Taking this simultaneous win of the Grand Prize and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award as an opportunity, we will contribute to building a global collaboration platform and creating value to solve food-related issues—such as population, climate, food security, and health crises—through AI and robotics technology.”
