[Edaily Reporter Park Jeong-soo] #Mirae Asset Securities has notified investors who subscribed to the 'SpaceX' initial public offering (IPO) that they may withdraw their subscriptions. This is because the schedule, which had originally anticipated trading on the day of listing, has changed, raising the possibility that investors may be unable to trade for a certain period.

According to the financial investment industry on the 10th, Mirae Asset Securities announced to customers who subscribed to SpaceX shares that "trading is expected to be possible starting June 16 (KST), at least two business days after the SpaceX listing date (the 12th)."
Initially, Mirae Asset Securities had planned to reflect the allocated shares from the overseas stock subscription in customers’ accounts before depositing them with the Korea Securities Depository (KSD) to enable trading on the listing date, as a measure to protect investors. However, the company changed its policy after concerns were raised that trading would only be possible after the shares were deposited with the KSD.
Mirae Asset Securities explained, “We had planned to reflect the allocated shares from the overseas stock subscription in customer accounts (investor account ledger) prior to deposit with the Korea Securities Depository (KSD) under our responsibility, thereby enabling trading on the day of listing.” However, the company added, “Following concerns that trading is only permitted after deposit with the KSD, we now plan to allow trading only after the shares are deposited with the KSD.”
Consequently, if stock price volatility peaks immediately after SpaceX’s listing, domestic investors may be unable to trade for a certain period, raising concerns about exposure to price volatility risks. Mirae Asset Securities noted, “Subscription withdrawals are permitted due to the uncertainty regarding the trading timing,” and advised, “Customers wishing to withdraw their subscriptions may do so by noon on the 11th.”
Meanwhile, the SpaceX IPO has recently attracted significant interest among domestic investors. The SpaceX IPO subscription conducted by Mirae Asset Securities saw the initial allocation of $300 million sell out in about one minute, and the additional $200 million allocation was also fully subscribed in about two minutes.
