[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon] Content AI solution company #4by4 has secured the contract for "Seoul Light Gwanghwamun," one of Seoul’s premier nighttime cultural events, marking its entry into the public cultural content market.
FourbyFour announced on the 11th that it has secured the contract for media art planning and event management services for “2026 Seoul Light Gwanghwamun.” Through this project, the company plans to once again demonstrate its AI-based content production technology and capabilities in producing large-scale immersive media art. (Courtesy of 4by4) Seoul Light Gwanghwamun is Seoul’s premier winter light festival, featuring media facades, light installations, and citizen-participatory programs centered around Gwanghwamun Square and the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. It has established itself as a large-scale cultural event that blends the historical and symbolic significance of Gwanghwamun with cutting-edge media technology.
ForbyFour will be solely responsible for the planning, direction, and overall operation of this project. The company plans to create integrated cultural content utilizing urban spaces through the installation of light sculptures in Gwanghwamun Square, as well as media facade shows, citizen-participatory content, and year-end and New Year’s countdown programs.
This project is particularly significant as it combines the company’s exhibition capabilities with AI-based content production technology. FourbyFour has executed various exhibitions, brand content, and immersive media projects using ultra-high-definition video technology and AI image enhancement solutions, and has recently expanded its business scope into spatial immersive content and interactive media.
The company has accumulated experience in staging large-scale outdoor spaces through previous projects such as the Sokcho Beach Media Art and the "The Wave" media facade project in Ulsan. It has also strengthened its capabilities in designing immersive content tailored to specific spatial characteristics through exhibitions at the Gansong Art Museum in DDP and the Hanwha Aquaplanet in Yeosu.
The concept for this year’s Seoul Light Gwanghwamun is “THE ORIGIN,” focusing on reinterpreting the historical significance of Gwanghwamun and Korean aesthetics through contemporary media art. The company plans to enhance citizen-participatory content experiences and transform the Gwanghwamun area into a cultural space by integrating AI-based content production technology, ultra-high-definition video capabilities, and real-time interaction technology.
Bong Young-soo, Director of the Exhibition Business Division at 4by4, stated, “2026 Seoul Light Gwanghwamun is a project that reinterprets Gwanghwamun, a historic symbol of Seoul, through contemporary media art.” He added, “Based on our AI-based content production technology and experience in large-scale media art production, we will present flagship cultural content that allows citizens to experience the space in a new way.”
