[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon] SMAC, a company specializing in machine tools and robotic automation solutions, announced on the 11th that it confirmed demand for high-value-added equipment and secured orders in the European market through a large-scale technical seminar and business roadshow held in Frankfurt, Germany.
This event was held as part of SMAC’s global “Technical Seminar World Tour.” Forty-two representatives from major dealers in 14 European countries, including Germany, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom, attended the event. On-site discussions focused on SMAC’s lineup of high-end equipment required for the machining of defense and aerospace components. In particular, SMAC held direct meetings with numerous European defense companies during the roadshow and confirmed demand for high-precision equipment. According to the company, it also secured orders for a number of machines.
Since defense components require high-rigidity materials and complex machining, high-precision equipment and process stability are considered key competitive advantages. SMAC explained that it successfully stimulated demand for equipment among local defense companies by showcasing its lineup of high-precision 5-axis machining centers and multi-axis machining centers.
On-site, SMAC’s mechatronics capabilities drew particular attention, including multi-axis machining technology that integrates multiple machining processes into a single operation to boost productivity, as well as high-rigidity structures and thermal displacement compensation technology required for machining difficult-to-cut materials.
The company explained that in the European market, where demand for production efficiency is growing due to a shortage of skilled workers and rising labor costs, its multi-axis control technology and solutions integrating unmanned automation were recognized as alternatives for process innovation.
The company’s ability to supply customized equipment was also cited as a key factor in this success. SMAC attracted interest from defense companies and local dealers by offering equipment with special specifications tailored to customers’ work environments and machining conditions, going beyond the sale of standard equipment.
Following the seminar, SMAC CEO Kwon Oh-hyuk personally led a business roadshow visiting key European hubs. CEO Kwon held a series of meetings with major dealers to discuss local marketing support, enhanced engineering services, and strategies for handling large-scale projects.
Following this European seminar, SMAC plans to hold a technical seminar in the United States next week. Through these initiatives, the company aims to strengthen its global sales activities targeting customers in high-value-added industries such as defense and aerospace, as well as its dealer network.
CEO Kwon Oh-hyuk stated, “This technical seminar and roadshow confirmed that SMAC’s high-end equipment and technical solutions are fully competitive even in the demanding European defense and aerospace markets.” He added, “Following Europe, we will directly assess the needs of local customers in the U.S. and drive global sales growth based on close collaboration with our dealers.”
