[Edaily Reporter Song Young-doo] #Samsung Biologics is participating in the "2026 BIO International Convention (BIO USA)," the world's largest biotech and pharmaceutical event, to showcase its global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) capabilities.
Samsung Biologics announced on the 15th that it will participate in BIO USA, which will be held at the San Diego Convention Center in California, USA, from the 22nd to the 25th (local time).
BIO USA, organized by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), is the world’s largest biotech event, where pharmaceutical and biotech companies, investors, and research institutions from around the globe gather annually to discuss partnerships and business collaborations. This year’s event, themed “Driven by Purpose,” is expected to attract over 20,000 industry professionals.
Since its founding in 2011, Samsung Biologics has been the only Korean company to operate a standalone booth for 14 consecutive years. This year, the company has set up a booth of approximately 140 square meters in the center of the exhibition hall to showcase its CRDMO business model—encompassing Contract Research (CRO), Contract Development (CDO), and Contract Manufacturing (CMO)—as well as its end-to-end services.
The exhibition booth features a large LED wall and interactive touchscreens, allowing visitors to intuitively experience the company’s services and production capabilities. In particular, the company’s strategy is to highlight its competitive advantage in the global CDMO market by showcasing its global production network—including its Rockville, U.S. campus—and expanded manufacturing capabilities.
The company will also participate in various official sessions during the event. On the second day, the 23rd, James Choi, Vice President of Sales Support, will participate in a panel discussion titled “Korea Rising: Don’t Be Late to Asia’s Next Innovation Hub.” Jeff Mason, Senior Vice President of Sales for the Americas, will also introduce Samsung Biologics’ global production capabilities and business strategy during a separate on-site session.
The company will also conduct marketing activities to enhance brand awareness. It plans to install approximately 170 banners along Harbor Drive—which connects San Diego International Airport to the exhibition center—and around the venue, while showcasing its vision and service competitiveness through digital advertisements in the main lobby of the exhibition hall.
Samsung Biologics aims to use this year’s BIO USA as an opportunity to expand its engagement with global clients and accelerate the acquisition of new orders by leveraging its competitive edge in integrated CRDMO-based services.
