NeuroMeka Begins Full-Scale Commercialization of Humanoid 'AIR'… Expanding On-Site Applications of Physical AI

[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon] #NeuroMeka, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic automation, is accelerating the commercialization of its humanoid robots based on its proprietary Physical AI platform.

NeuroMeka announced on the 16th that it has completed verification of high-difficulty assembly processes by applying Physical AI technology to electric motor production lines and is expanding its industrial applications centered on the humanoid robot 'EIR'.

The company recently verified the performance of its dual-arm collaborative robot system at its own factory by applying it to processes—such as cable insertion and precision assembly—that were difficult to implement with existing automation equipment. The company explained that it confirmed the system’s applicability even in environments with significant flexible body deformation and task variations.

NeuroMeka’s Physical AI platform is based on its proprietary ‘Physical Skill Foundation (PSF)’. It is an execution framework that integrates vision and language-based foundation models (VFM/VLM), Sim2Real policy models, and robot control technology, designed to be immediately deployable in the field without the need for separate teaching or teleoperation-based data collection.

In particular, the company is focusing on securing 'Zero-shot' technology, which enables the robot to perform tasks with new objects and in new environments without additional training. Through this, the company aims to expand the scope of automation to include high-mix, low-volume production and highly variable manufacturing processes.

The humanoid robot "Air" serves as the execution entity that implements this Physical AI platform in actual industrial settings. It is being developed with a dual-arm structure capable of operating in human-centric work environments, enabling its application across various fields such as manufacturing, logistics, and services.

NeuroMeka has also begun establishing a mass production system for Air starting this year. The recently unveiled humanoid production line incorporates a safety-certified controller developed in-house, and the company is expanding its mass production capabilities based on the manufacturing expertise accumulated through its "Indy" series of collaborative robots.

Currently, through the Daegu City Megacity Project, the company is conducting field demonstrations of Physical AI-based dual-arm robots with domestic manufacturing firms such as Hwasin Precision, Ajin Industries, and SL. Additionally, it is expanding its application areas through projects such as supplying automation systems to Kolmar Korea, demonstrating AI automation on manufacturing lines, and a national project for medical surgical assistance humanoids.

Heo Young-jin, CTO of NeuroMeka, stated, “The core competitive advantage of humanoids lies not in their human-like appearance, but in Physical AI technology that can be utilized in actual industrial settings.” He added, “We will develop ‘AIR’ as our first commercial platform and expand its application scope to the manufacturing, logistics, service, and medical sectors.”
