[Edaily Reporter Shin Min-jun] As the number of pet owners in Korea continues to rise steadily, the market for related medical services is also expanding rapidly. According to a report by the KB Financial Group Management Research Institute, the number of pet owners in Korea stands at approximately 15.46 million, accounting for nearly 30% of the total population.
Along with a shift in perception toward treating pets as family members, spending on pet care is also on the rise, with the average monthly pet care expense recorded at 194,000 won, an increase from the previous year. As pet owners’ expectations for advanced veterinary care grow, the number of newly opened animal hospitals is increasing, and existing hospitals are also upgrading their equipment and expanding their facilities.

Whereas in the past, clinics would purchase diagnostic equipment or surgical devices piecemeal from individual manufacturers, systems that provide comprehensive support—from clinic setup to the establishment of clinical and surgical environments—have recently emerged as a core competitive advantage in the industry.
Amid this trend, #JPI Healthcare—which has established itself in the veterinary market by introducing DeteCT, a 3-in-1 mobile hybrid cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) system—has recently drawn attention by significantly expanding its product lineup to include essential equipment for veterinary clinics. Rather than limiting itself to supplying its flagship model, DeteCT, the company has set out to build a comprehensive infrastructure specialized for animal hospitals by adding equipment with high demand in clinical settings.
The new lineup recently incorporated by JPI Healthcare consists of core devices directly related to the surgical environment, such as veterinary anesthesia machines and patient monitoring systems. The company has focused on implementing an “All-in-One” treatment system that seamlessly connects the existing state-of-the-art imaging diagnostic equipment, DeteCT, with the newly introduced operating room equipment, ensuring a smooth transition from accurate diagnosis to safe anesthesia and patient monitoring during surgery.
This diversification of the equipment lineup is expected to significantly alleviate the physical and financial burdens on veterinary hospitals preparing to open new facilities or replace aging equipment. This is because it allows for the centralization of system compatibility concerns and complex maintenance processes—which can arise when mixing devices from multiple manufacturers—through a single point of contact. From the veterinarians’ perspective, this ensures an environment where they can reduce the time spent on product research and equipment management and focus more on their core clinical duties.
Ultimately, this expansion of the product lineup is seen as a strategic move by JPI Healthcare to firmly establish itself as a provider of customized turnkey solutions, going beyond the simple sale of devices.
A JPI Healthcare representative stated, “While our existing DeteCT system provided an innovative imaging diagnostic environment for veterinary clinics, this expansion of our lineup—including anesthesia machines and monitors—represents an integrated approach aimed at improving the overall workflow of veterinary hospitals and expanding into customized turnkey services.” The representative added, “We will continue to enhance our systematic and convenient total solutions so that both new and existing veterinary hospitals can trust and adopt them.”
