[Edaily Reporter Kim Saemi] Dong-A Socio Group announced on the 17th that it will participate in the “BIO International Convention 2026” (BIO USA 2026), taking place in San Diego, USA, from the 22nd to the 25th (local time).
BIO USA is a pharmaceutical and biotech exhibition organized by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). It brings together pharmaceutical and biotech companies, investors, and research institutions from around the world to share R&D achievements and pipelines, and to discuss business collaboration opportunities such as technology export and import, investment attraction, and joint development.
At this event, Dong-A Socio Group will operate a joint booth featuring #Dong-A ST, #ST Pharm, and BTGen. Dong-A ST will focus on new drug development, ST Pharm on integrated contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) of RNA therapeutics, and BTGen on contract manufacturing (CMO) of biopharmaceuticals, with each company introducing its current business status and potential for collaboration.
Dong-A ST will present its new drug pipeline currently under development in the fields of oncology, immune and inflammatory diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases, as well as its biosimilar business. Based on this, the company plans to seek partnership opportunities such as global technology exports, joint development, and the acquisition of drug candidates.
ST Pharm will highlight its oligonucleotide production capabilities following the launch of its second oligonucleotide production line. The company plans to engage in discussions with global clients, focusing on its high-purity, large-scale production and quality control capabilities, which can support everything from early-stage clinical trials to commercial-scale volumes. The company will also showcase its mRNA-LNP CDMO capabilities, based on its “xRNA Platform” designed to meet the demand for next-generation RNA therapeutics, its proprietary 5’ capping technology “SmartCap®,” and its lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation technology “STLNP®.”
BTGen plans to announce the status of its expanded production capacity following the expansion of Plant No. 1. Through this expansion, BTGen has increased its bioreactor capacity from 9,000 L to 14,000 L, resulting in an approximate 55% increase in culture capacity. In the medium to long term, the company plans to present a dual-track strategy based on treatments for rare diseases and off-patent biopharmaceuticals to discuss potential collaborations in the new drug and biosimilar businesses.
An official from Dong-A Socio Group stated, “At BIO USA 2026, we plan to showcase the Group’s key business capabilities, including new drug development, RNA therapeutics CDMO, and biopharmaceutical CMO,” adding, “We will explore overseas business opportunities through meetings with global clients and potential partners.”
