iM Biologics to Participate in Bio USA… Pushing Ahead with Global Commercialization of Next-Generation Pipeline

[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon] #IMBiologics will participate in Bio USA, the world’s largest biotech event, to discuss the global commercialization of its next-generation pipeline.

I.M. Biologics announced on the 19th that it will participate in “BIO USA 2026 (BIO International Convention 2026),” which will be held in San Diego, California, from the 22nd to the 25th.

During the event, the company plans to hold partnering meetings with approximately 30 global pharmaceutical companies and biotech firms, focusing on its next-generation autoimmune disease treatment “IMB-106,” the anticancer candidate “IMB-201,” and a treatment for age-related macular degeneration based on the ePENDY platform.

IMB-106 is a next-generation autoantibody-removal therapy currently under development based on the company’s autoimmune disease platform technology. The company expects to secure a competitive edge based on its improved efficacy and long-lasting effects compared to existing treatments.

In particular, as recent tests in monkey animal models confirmed superior pharmacokinetic (PK) characteristics and sustained therapeutic effects compared to existing treatments, the company plans to use these results as a basis for business development (BD) discussions with global pharmaceutical companies. The company explains that IMB-106 is also recognized as a platform technology applicable to the development of antibody therapies for various autoimmune diseases, going beyond a single pipeline.

IMB-201 is an anti-cancer candidate that targets the HLA-G protein, which is involved in immune evasion mechanisms. It is currently being developed as IMB-201A, an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), and IMB-201B, a multi-antibody-based formulation. The company anticipates that by modulating the tumor microenvironment, it may improve efficacy even in cancer types that show low response rates to existing treatments.

The treatment for age-related macular degeneration focuses on utilizing the ePENDY platform technology to increase the drug’s residence time within the eye and extend the dosing interval. The company anticipates that this will become a next-generation treatment option that offers greater patient convenience compared to existing therapies.

IM Biologics is also expanding its follow-on pipeline based on its antibody platform technology for autoimmune disease treatments. The company plans to identify and announce new autoimmune disease treatment candidates on a quarterly basis starting at the end of this year.

Ha Kyung-sik, CEO of IMBioLogics, stated, “We are developing a diverse next-generation pipeline that includes not only IMB-106 but also IMB-105, an autoimmune disease treatment with a novel mechanism of action, as well as candidates that enhance immune brakes and single-target, dual-mechanism candidates.” He added, “We will pursue technology transfers starting at the candidate stage to achieve early commercialization results.”
