[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] SKTelecom(017670)is launching an initiative to train young, hands-on professionals in the security and networking fields to lead the era of AI Transformation (AX).
SKTelecom announced on the 21st that, in partnership with Korea IT Academy and as part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s K-Digital Training initiative, it will operate “ALEPH,” a training program to cultivate hands-on professionals in AI security and networking, and is now recruiting trainees.
This program is designed with a hands-on, field-oriented approach to align with the trend of AI technology spreading across corporate network operations and security systems. It is characterized by a focus on project execution and portfolio development that can be applied in real-world industrial settings, going beyond mere certification acquisition or theoretical education.
Trainees will undertake projects that reflect real-world work environments, including AI-based network operations, corporate infrastructure deployment, security policy design, anomaly detection, and incident response.
In particular, SKTelecom plans to incorporate its accumulated experience in AI network and security operations into the curriculum and provide practical industry know-how through mentoring by current employees and project reviews.
The program’s name, ALEPH, stands for “AI Literacy Engine for Plasticity & Hardiness,” signifying the program’s commitment to cultivating talent capable of responding flexibly to change and solving problems based on AI proficiency.
The program is open to unemployed youth aged 15 to 34. The full tuition fee of 19.6 million won is covered by government funding, and participants who meet certain requirements, such as attendance, are eligible to receive a monthly training allowance of up to 500,000 won.
The program will be conducted in person in Daejeon, Daegu, and Busan starting this August. The application period runs through August 10.
SKTelecom explained that as companies begin to adopt AI in earnest, the demand for hands-on professionals capable of applying AI in the fields of networking and security is rapidly increasing.
Kim Gu-young, Head of SKTelecom’s Enterprise Business Division, stated, “As AI has established itself as a key factor determining corporate competitiveness, the importance of practical skills to apply and operate it in real-world work is growing even more.” He added, “Through this ALEPH program, we will cultivate AX talent in the security and network fields and contribute to the expansion of AI transformation across the entire domestic industry.”
