'Toy Story 5' Continues Its Box Office Run… Tops the Box Office for 4 Consecutive Days

[E-Daily Reporter Lee Youn-jung ] Disney·Pixar’s new animated film “Toy Story 5” continues its box office success, holding the top spot for four consecutive days.

According to the Integrated Movie Ticket Network on the 21st, “Toy Story 5” drew 335,742 viewers the previous day, securing the top spot on the daily box office chart. Its cumulative audience count stands at 585,524.

This film tells the story of toys who feel neglected as Bonnie’s attention shifts to her smart tablet, “Lilypad.” It is the latest installment in the series, released seven years after “Toy Story 4,” which drew 3.4 million viewers upon its release in 2019.

Director Yeon Sang-ho’s “Collective” took second place on the same day, drawing 87,590 viewers. Its cumulative attendance has risen to 5,464,405. The comedy film “Wild Thing,” starring Kang Dong-won, ranked third with 62,549 viewers. Its cumulative attendance stands at 1,054,768.

“Toy Story 5” continued its strong performance in advance ticket sales as well. As of 8:00 a.m. that day, its advance ticket sales rate stood at 42.6%, ranking first overall, with 143,103 tickets sold. Following behind, “The Eye,” starring Shin Min-a, took second place with a 9.1% advance ticket sales rate (30,489 tickets), while “The Army” ranked third with 7.7% (25,822 tickets).
