[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] LG HelloVision(037560)has launched a new original web variety show titled “Ji Sang-ryeol’s Gills,” which combines offline performances with an online platform, as part of its efforts to strengthen its competitiveness in digital content.

“Ji Sang-ryeol’s Gills” is an audience-participation comedy and healing talk show hosted by comedians Ji Sang-ryeol and Kim Seung-jin, who interact directly with the audience. The show features the two hosts performing impromptu ad-libs based on the audience’s concerns and personal stories, emphasizing two-way communication that sets it apart from traditional one-way broadcasts.

The program captures the lively atmosphere of the live offline venue and is released via LG HelloVision’s YouTube channel, “Hello Life.” The first episode, “Incheon Bupyeong,” released on the 12th, received a positive response for its unscripted, improvised talk.

Notably, the program will expand into a paid performance format targeting adult audiences starting this July. Performances will take place on July 4 and 18 at “M STAGE,” a small theater located on Insadong-gil in Jongno-gu, Seoul, with tickets available through Naver Reservation and Ticketlink. LG HelloVision plans to expand the performances nationwide in the future.

This program is a new original production launched by LG HelloVision as part of its efforts to strengthen its digital content business. The YouTube channel “HelloLife,” where the program is released, currently has 1.04 million subscribers and 1.43 billion cumulative views, becoming the first channel in the pay-TV industry to surpass 1 million subscribers.

LG HelloVision is expanding its online content portfolio by successively launching in-house productions such as “Joo Rak Pye Rak” and “Ji Hye Pick.”

Producer Nam Sang-ho said, “‘Ji Sang-ryeol’s Gills’ was conceived as a program where people can unburden their worries amid their busy daily lives and find comfort through laughter,” adding, “We plan to expand beyond the online space to offline stages to showcase the charm of a talk show co-created by the host and the audience.”
