Naver announced on the 22nd that it had obtained “ISO 22301” certification at a ceremony held on the 19th at the Naver 1784 headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. ISO 22301 is an international standard certification awarded after evaluating a management system’s ability to rapidly recover and ensure business continuity when operations are disrupted by disasters or emergencies.
Naver explained that it was recognized for establishing a company-wide disaster response management system in collaboration with Naver Webtoon and Naver Cloud.
Naver has established response processes tailored to specific types of disasters, such as floods, typhoons, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, and fires. It is also focusing on ensuring service continuity by refining detailed recovery procedures in accordance with company-wide service recovery priorities.
Going forward, Naver plans to conduct regular disaster recovery drills based on its Business Continuity Plan (BCP). It will also continue improvement initiatives to ensure service stability.
Internal training and campaigns will also be conducted to enhance employees’ understanding of the Business Continuity Plan. Through these efforts, the company aims to strengthen its disaster response system and infrastructure stability.
Naver also operates a company-wide crisis response governance system. Through the BCP Committee, it regularly reviews its disaster response system and refines measures to ensure service stability.
Yoo Bong-seok, Naver’s Chief Risk Officer, stated, “In a situation where various types of disasters occur—including natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and heavy snowfall, as well as terrorism and fires—Naver has fulfilled its responsibility as a platform company and enhanced its response systems to ensure service continuity.” He added, “Through the BCP Committee, we will regularly review our company-wide crisis response governance to further enhance service stability.”
