They also plan to host joint seminars, exhibitions, and technology exchanges, as well as identify international joint projects to revitalize global robotics industry cooperation.
The Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency will be responsible for laying the policy groundwork to facilitate Korean companies’ entry into the European market. Doosan Robotics will utilize its European branch as a local cooperation hub to support technology validation and the expansion of its local network in Europe. KETI is expected to play a leading role in identifying joint R&D projects, conducting technology validation, and supporting commercialization.
Following the signing ceremony, an introduction to the Doosan Robotics European branch and a facility tour were conducted. A roundtable discussion was also held to listen to the challenges faced by Korean robotics companies when entering the European market. Participants discussed ways to identify local demand, expand demonstration projects, provide certification support, and foster technical cooperation, while exploring global expansion strategies based on public-private partnerships.
Cho Young-hoon, President of the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (KETI), stated, “This agreement is highly significant as it establishes a foundation for entering the global market through collaboration between a leading domestic robotics company and a specialized research institute.” He added, “We will actively promote the commercialization of joint R&D projects centered on our local cooperation hubs in Europe to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic robotics industry.”
Noh Geon-ki, President of KETI, remarked, “This agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand the growth foundation for domestic companies by closely linking research facilities with global production hubs.” He added, “Based on KETI’s capabilities in physical AI technology and its overseas network, we will expand our support for domestic companies to help them strengthen their global competitiveness.”
