[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] Fabless semiconductor company Zinitix Co.,Ltd.(303030)hit the daily price limit early in the trading session following news that it is developing core sensor semiconductors for use in humanoid robots. According to MP Doctor on the 23rd, as of 9:15 a.m. that day, Zinitix Co.,Ltd. was trading at 2,170 won, up 29.78% from the previous trading day. This surge in buying interest is believed to stem from the company’s announcement that it will participate as a joint research partner in the government-funded project titled “Development of Position Sensor ICs Using Nano-Metal Thin-Film Hall Sensors.” This project will run from September 2025 to August 2028, with Company N—which holds the core technology for nano-metal thin-film Hall sensors—serving as the lead institution. Zinitix Co.,Ltd. will be responsible for developing the analog circuit (ROIC) that processes Hall sensor signals. Based on this, the company plans to develop encoder ROICs and ultra-high-precision current sensor ROICs for use in humanoid robot hands and joints. An encoder ROIC is a semiconductor that precisely measures the rotational angle of robot joints and robot hand actuators. As competition in humanoid robot development has recently intensified, demand for ultra-compact encoders used in finger joints and small actuators is also growing rapidly. In particular, this project will utilize SHE (Spontaneous Hall Effect) Hall sensor technology based on nano-metal thin films. Zinitix Co.,Ltd. has been collaborating with a South Korean company—the first in the world to commercialize this core technology—since 2023. Through this project, the company aims to develop an IC that detects the rotational angle of actuators and complete the development of engineering samples (ES) by the end of 2026. Zinitix Co.,Ltd. stated, “Along with the expansion of the humanoid robot market, demand is growing for ultra-compact, high-sensitivity sensors applied to finger joints and small actuators,” adding, “Through this project, we will secure the core sensor technologies necessary for implementing physical AI and strengthen our competitiveness in the robotics and power semiconductor markets.”
