Kakao announced on the 23rd that it is participating in the “2026 Public AI Industry Expo,” which runs through the 24th at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. Hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the expo was organized to showcase AI technologies and services for the public sector.
At the expo, Kakao is operating an interactive booth under the theme “A Day with Kanana.” Centered around its integrated AI brand “Kanana,” the booth is designed to allow visitors to directly experience agent-based AI services that can be applied to their daily lives.
The booth will feature a total of five experience zones. First, in the “Kanana in KakaoTalk” zone, visitors will be introduced to the briefing feature—which leverages the context of KakaoTalk conversations—and the “SeonTalk” feature—which proactively suggests information or content to users—through videos and hands-on demonstrations. In the “Kanana Chat & Call Summary” zone, visitors can watch videos demonstrating features that efficiently organize chat messages and call transcripts. Services closely integrated with daily life—connecting services both within and outside of Kakao—are also introduced through the “Kakao Tools” experience space.
An experience zone for the “AI National Secretary”—a pilot service launched in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety—has also been set up. The AI National Secretary is a service that allows users to easily handle public facility reservations and the issuance of electronic certificates within KakaoTalk. It was recently updated to support voice commands as well. In the experience zone, visitors can personally go through the entire process—from booking public services and issuing certificates to submitting them to government agencies and verifying certificates stored in their electronic wallets—simply by touching the screen.
Kakao will also introduce “Kanana Safeguard,” its proprietary AI guardrail model applied to the AI Citizen Secretary. Kanana Safeguard is a model designed to detect harmful content and risky requests, and it is specialized for the Korean language.
Kakao’s lineup of in-house AI models, “Kanana,” will also be on display at the booth. A photo booth event utilizing the image-generation model “Kanana Collage” has been set up. Visitors can create their own Kakao Friends character, “Jordi,” and print out their “Personal Jordi ID Card.”
A Kakao representative stated, “This expo is an opportunity to directly demonstrate how Kakao’s agentic AI technology can make citizens’ daily lives more convenient in the public sector,” adding, “We will continue to expand our collaboration with public services, including the AI Personal Assistant.”
