Coreline Soft Co., Ltd. and Mint Medical to Build AI Operating System for Lung Cancer Screening in Germany

[Edaily Reporter NA EUN-KYUNG ] Coreline Soft Co., Ltd.(384470)is partnering with German medical imaging software company Mint Medical to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) operating system for lung cancer screening.

The goal of this collaboration is to enhance the image interpretation, report generation, and follow-up management functions in the lung cancer screening process by integrating Coreline Soft Co., Ltd.’s chest CT AI analysis solution with Mint Medical’s structured reporting platform.

This year, Germany established the institutional framework to implement low-dose CT (LDCT)-based early lung cancer screening within its statutory health insurance system. Consequently, demand is growing for systems that support the entire screening process—including not only the detection of pulmonary nodules but also double-reading, structured reporting, and long-term follow-up management.

Lung cancer screening does not end with the initial detection of a nodule; it requires tracking changes in size and growth rates over several years. For this reason, an operational system that standardizes screening data and enables follow-up management is considered essential.

Mint Medical is a company that owns “mint Lesion,” a structured reporting platform used by major medical institutions in Germany and across Europe. This platform enables radiologists to record interpretation results in a standardized format and perform long-term follow-up management.

The two companies plan to integrate Coreline Soft Co., Ltd.’s chest CT AI solution, “AVIEW,” with Mint Medical’s platform. AVIEW provides not only lung nodule analysis but also various quantitative data detectable via chest CT, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, and coronary artery calcification (CAC).

Through this collaboration, AI-detected pulmonary nodule results can be utilized within a structured reporting environment, supporting standardized nodule classification, volume doubling time (VDT) calculations, and the development of follow-up management plans.

Coreline Soft Co., Ltd. has recently been expanding its business in the German lung cancer screening market. The company signed 10 new hospital contracts in Germany last year and secured 11 more in the first quarter of this year alone. With 12 additional contracts in April and 21 in May, the cumulative number of contracts from January through May this year rose to 44.

However, since procedures such as installation at each hospital, system integration, security verification, and training for medical staff are required, revenue based on actual usage is expected to be reflected sequentially. The industry views this expansion of contracts as a leading indicator that could lead to future growth in usage-based billing (PPU) and recurring revenue from subscription-based (SaaS) models.

Onur Özek, Managing Director of Mint Medical, stated, “By integrating Coreline Soft Co., Ltd.’s AI solution into mint Lesion, we can more specifically address the requirements of lung cancer screening and support scalable, quality-assured workflows, long-term follow-up management, and optimized interaction with AI results.”

He added, “Coreline Soft Co., Ltd. already possesses clinically validated AI solutions, which complement Mint Medical’s structured reporting workflow very well,” and noted, “Through this partnership, we will offer the entire workflow to the market in an integrated manner and support hospitals in adopting it more seamlessly.”

A representative of Coreline Soft Co., Ltd. said, “The German lung cancer screening market places importance not only on the accuracy of AI analysis but also on how screening data can be standardized and utilized in actual clinical practice,” adding, “Through our collaboration with Mint Medical, we plan to enhance AI-based reporting and workflow models tailored to the German lung cancer screening environment.”

Industry observers believe that as a track record of lung cancer screening in Germany is established, there is a high likelihood that the initiative will expand into the European market, where national-level lung cancer screening programs—such as those in France and Italy—are being promoted.
