[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] NPD Co.,Ltd.(198080), a company specializing in windshield wipers and surface mount technology (SMT), is accelerating its expansion into the European market by securing distribution channels in Northern Europe and the United Kingdom one after another.
CAP announced on the 24th that it has secured Swedish distributor Biltema as a new client and began supplying flat wipers and rear wipers starting this month. Biltema is a retail specialist operating approximately 160 stores primarily in Northern Europe, selling automotive accessories and tools.
The company explained that Biltema highly valued CAP’s technological capabilities and quality competitiveness, to the extent that it discontinued its business with an existing global automotive parts supplier and selected CAP as its new supplier.
CAP recently signed a supply contract with Halfords, the largest distributor of automotive and bicycle products in the UK and Ireland. The supply items include flat wipers and rear wipers, with an estimated annual sales volume of approximately 1.6 billion won.
Securing these new clients is expected to significantly expand the share of sales in the European region. As of last year, Europe accounted for only about 2% of CAP’s wiper business revenue. However, the company expects that if the orders from Vilthema and Halfords are fully reflected in its annual performance, the share of European sales will more than double compared to previous levels.
CAP currently serves over 200 customers in more than 40 countries worldwide, primarily through its wiper business, and focuses its operations on the aftermarket.
In its SMT business—the company’s other core pillar—CAF produces and supplies flexible printed circuit assembly (FPCA) modules for OLED panels. The company established wipers and SMT as its two main business pillars following its merger with SMT specialist NP in May of last year.
A CAP official stated, “We plan to continue strengthening our push into the European market by securing new clients in Sweden and the UK,” adding, “We will strive to diversify our revenue by region and expand our global customer base.”
