Promoting Korea’s Advanced Security Technologies and Monitoring Models
[Edaily Reporter An Yu-ri ] Piolink, Inc.(170790) announced on the 24th that it has been awarded the Project Management Consulting (PMC) contract for the “Philippines National Cybersecurity Center Construction Project” through a consortium comprising the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), Korea Telecom Internet Technology, and AirKey.
This project is an Official Development Assistance (ODA) initiative funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). It is expected to serve as a prime example of ODA cooperation, with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and domestic private-sector security firms joining forces to expand Korea’s information security capabilities overseas.
Piolink, Inc. previously formed a consortium with Korea Telecom Internet Technology and others for a project in Kyrgyzstan, where it successfully provided consulting services covering the entire process—including strategy development, legal and institutional reforms, and the establishment of a security model—for the construction of a national-level cybersecurity control tower.
That project was recognized as the first instance in which a domestic information security company exported security consulting and security monitoring technologies overseas through the ODA framework, setting a precedent for ODA in the information security sector.
In this Philippine project as well, the Piolink, Inc.-KISA consortium will apply SUNJIN Co., Ltd.’s advanced security monitoring model to manage the entire project—including the establishment of the Philippine National Cybersecurity Center, the development of its operational framework, and the strengthening of cyber threat response capabilities.
Through this initiative, Piolink, Inc. plans to enhance the credibility of Korean security technology in the Southeast Asian market and establish a key foothold for future market expansion into neighboring countries.
Cho Young-chul, CEO of Piolink, Inc., stated, “The successful execution of the Kyrgyzstan project laid the groundwork for winning this contract in the Philippines,” adding, “We will continue to create best practices in ODA projects for information security and further strengthen the foundation for exporting ‘K-Cybersecurity’ overseas so that South Korea’s cybersecurity capabilities can become a global standard.”
