Global e-commerce platform Cafe24 Corp. announced on the 25th that it has launched the “Alibaba.com Sourcing” service, which integrates with the global B2B e-commerce platform Alibaba.com.

A key feature of this service is that it allows users to handle all the necessary tasks—from sourcing overseas products to selling them on an e-commerce store—within the Cafe24 Corp. admin panel. Cafe24 Corp. store operators can search for products on Alibaba.com via the admin panel, select the desired items, and list them directly on their own stores.

Previously, tasks such as product search, product listing, removing foreign text from images, editing product descriptions, and creating product detail pages had to be performed separately. Through this integration, Cafe24 Corp. plans to streamline the process from product sourcing to sales preparation into a single workflow, thereby reducing the workload for online store operators.

Alibaba.com is a global B2B e-commerce platform operating in over 200 countries and regions worldwide, with more than 50 million buyers. Cafe24 Corp. explained that by integrating with Alibaba.com, it has created an environment where online store operators can more easily discover and sell products sourced from overseas.

The core of the service lies in the stage of preparing products for sale after they have been discovered. Previously, even after finding products to sell, it took considerable time and cost to organize product information and create product detail pages tailored to the domestic consumer market. Cafe24 Corp. supports this process with AI-based productization features. It automatically detects and removes Chinese text from product images and retouches the images. It also automatically generates product descriptions and detail pages, enabling operators to convert products into a sale-ready format without the need for design software or outsourcing.

Sellers can choose between direct sourcing and drop shipping. Direct sourcing involves receiving the products directly, then inspecting, repackaging, and branding them before sale. Drop shipping involves placing an order with the supplier only after a customer order is received, so the seller does not need to secure inventory in advance. This is particularly useful for sellers looking to test new product lines or those in the early stages of starting a business.

Lee Jae-seok, CEO of Cafe24 Corp., said, “The Alibaba.com sourcing service was designed to solve the problem where online store operators waste time and money on the sales preparation process even after finding good products.” He added, “We plan to continue enhancing the service to reduce the burden on operators and expand new sales opportunities by providing support not only in finding products but also in the process of turning them into products that are actually ready for sale.”
