This agreement was reached amid growing expectations for the creation of a regulated digital asset market following the passage of legislation related to security tokens (STs) by the National Assembly. The two companies plan to collaborate on digital asset tokenization projects based on real assets, such as fractional investment, and discuss ways to implement financial services tailored to the regulatory environment. Edena Korea is a financial infrastructure technology company that provides tokenized securities, stablecoin platforms, and settlement and clearing solutions to domestic and international financial institutions. Building on its collaboration with global financial and technology networks, the company is pursuing projects to build regulated digital financial infrastructure. SKSecurities plans to use this agreement as an opportunity to accelerate the development of RWA token infrastructure and related financial services. The company will explore business models for tokenizing and distributing real-world assets and advance the development of its digital asset platform, prioritizing investor protection and risk management systems. Jeong Jun-ho, CEO of SKSecurities, said, “Together with Edena Korea, we will pursue overseas expansion in the digital financial assets business sector through a business model that tokenizes and distributes real-world assets, and we will explore new financial services and products for our customers.” He added, “For the RWA tokenization business, we will build the platform in line with regulatory trends, with a focus on regulatory-friendly design, and strengthen our position in the digital asset market by prioritizing investor protection.” Jeong Won-jae, CEO of Edena Korea, said, “We will build next-generation digital financial infrastructure by combining Edena’s IT integration architecture and global core banking network with SKSecurities’ digital asset platform,” adding, “Based on both companies’ technology and financial expertise, we will introduce a reliable commercial infrastructure.” SKSecurities is expanding its related businesses by positioning tokenized securities and fractional investment as mid- to long-term growth drivers. In 2022, the company established a system for securitizing real estate assets to offer fractional investment products, and it is also participating in “Project Pulse,” an initiative to build blockchain-based financial infrastructure for fractional investment.
