KTCorporation Partners with Kakao on AI Safety… Targets Public and Financial Sectors

Kakao's Security Tools Integrated with AI Foundry Kanana Safeguard Implemented in RAG Suite 2.0 Supporting a Trust-Based AI Environment for Public and Financial Sector Clients Expanding Cooperation Through Joint Development of an Operating Platform

[Edaily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] KTCorporation Cloud is partnering with Kakao(035720)to build a secure operating environment for artificial intelligence (AI) services.

KTCorporation announced on the 26th that it is establishing a collaborative framework with Kakao on AI safety to create a trustworthy environment for AI utilization in sectors such as the public and financial sectors.

With the recent expansion of generative AI usage, the importance of AI safety issues—such as the generation of harmful content, prompt injection, and personal data leaks—is growing. In particular, public institutions, the financial sector, and corporate customers must consider not only performance but also security, reliability, and regulatory compliance requirements when adopting AI, leading to a rising demand for a secure AI operating environment.

KT Cloud and Kakao plan to combine KT Cloud’s AI infrastructure platform capabilities with Kakao’s AI safety technologies to establish a foundation that allows customers to develop and operate generative AI services with confidence.

The two companies held a signing ceremony on the 25th at Kakao’s Pangyo Ajit to discuss AI safety collaboration strategies and future implementation plans. The ceremony was attended by Gong Yong-jun, Head of the Cloud Division at KT Cloud, and Kim Se-woong, AI Synergy Performance Leader at Kakao.

As the first step in this collaboration, KT Cloud will integrate Kakao’s AI guardrail model, “Kanana Safeguard,” into “RAG Suite 2.0,” a search-augmented generation (RAG)-based generative AI service platform for public sector customers launched last April.

Kanana Safeguard is an AI safety model specialized for the Korean language and Korea’s cultural and legal contexts. It supports the safe use of generative AI services by detecting and blocking the generation of harmful content, inappropriate responses, and prompt attacks.

Beyond guardrails, the two companies plan to gradually provide AI safety tools—including a model stability evaluation system and an AI red-team system that diagnoses vulnerabilities based on various attack scenarios—to the KTCorporation Cloud customer environment.

The scope of the collaboration will also expand to the operational platform sector. The two companies plan to jointly build an operational platform that integrates and manages AI safety tools based on customer feedback and operational data collected within the KTCorporation Cloud environment.

This will enable customers to establish a systematic AI operating environment throughout the entire process—from the development of generative AI services to their deployment, operation, and monitoring. It is also expected to effectively address the security and regulatory compliance standards required by public institutions and the financial sector.

Kim Bong-kyun, CEO of KT Cloud, stated, “As generative AI becomes increasingly widespread, establishing a foundation for responsible AI use—beyond just performance—has become a critical task.” He added, “Through our collaboration with Kakao, we will combine AI infrastructure with safety technologies and support public and private sector customers in developing and operating AI services in an environment they can trust.”
