AI PIXELL Desktop is an installable AI video quality enhancement solution that runs directly on a local PC without usage-based billing. It expands the company’s existing product lineup—previously offered in on-premise, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and API formats—to include personal computer environments.

Users can perform tasks such as video quality enhancement, upscaling, noise reduction, and deinterlacing on their own computers without having to upload videos separately. The company explains that since all AI processing takes place on the local GPU, even video assets that are difficult to transfer externally can be processed securely.

This product is optimized for NVIDIA RTX GPU environments and utilizes CUDA- and TensorRT-based AI inference technology. By adopting a CNN-based inference method rather than generative AI, it focuses on restoring the details and textures of the original video. The company explained that this minimizes content distortion and “hallucination” effects, making it suitable for work environments where preserving the original content is critical, such as broadcasting, film, and OTT content.

4by4 Inc. has secured use cases in the broadcasting, film, and OTT sectors by supplying AI PIXELL to domestic and international media companies, including KBS, Wavve, CJ ENM CO., Ltd., Japan’s Fuji TV, and Shochiku. This desktop version was developed to expand the service—which had previously been focused on enterprise customers—to include professional creators and independent producers.

A key feature is its adoption of an original-based, inference-style CNN deep learning architecture rather than a generative AI approach. Instead of generating new pixels, it works by restoring the details and textures of the original video, thereby minimizing content distortion and “hallucination” effects. This allows for stable use even in environments where preserving the original content is critical, such as broadcasting, film, and OTT content.

AI PIXELL Desktop is sold as a perpetual license priced in the 220,000 won range. A key feature is that once purchased, users can continue using it indefinitely without additional charges based on usage. The Windows version has been released first, and a macOS version is planned for release later this year.

Seo Hee-hwan, Head of the Solutions Business Division at 4by4 Inc., stated, “As the focus of the AI industry shifts from training to inference, the ease and efficiency with which AI can be utilized in the field are becoming increasingly important.” He added, “We have expanded our product line so that more creators can utilize the AI video processing technology previously used by enterprise customers directly on their own PCs.”

He added, “Now that we have secured a desktop product line in addition to on-premises, SaaS, and API offerings, we will expand our business as an AI solutions company that supports the entire content production process, including video production, archiving, and remastering.”
