PROTEINA CO., LTD. Holds Partnering Meetings with 28 Overseas Pharmaceutical Companies at BIO USA 2026

Discussions on Technology Transfer for Key Pipeline Projects

[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] #PROTEINA CO., LTD., an AI-driven new drug development company specializing in protein-protein interaction (PPI) big data, announced on the 29th that it held one-on-one partnering meetings with a total of 28 overseas pharmaceutical and biotech companies at the world’s largest biotech event, the “BIO International Convention (BIO USA 2026).”

During the event, held in San Diego, U.S., from the 22nd to the 25th (local time), PROTEINA CO., LTD. explored opportunities for technology transfer and collaboration, focusing on “PRT-101,” a candidate treatment for osteoarthritis, and “PRT-1309,” a candidate treatment for obesity and diabetes, both discovered using its proprietary antibody design platform.
In particular, the company held separate meetings with two major U.S. pharmaceutical companies to discuss its AI-based antibody design platform. It introduced its capabilities for generating big data on antibody-antigen interactions, predicting antibody developability using AI, and the “Lab-in-the-loop” system—which validates these predictions through large-scale experiments—and discussed directions for platform-based joint research.
The osteoarthritis treatment candidate PRT-101, based on preclinical data on cartilage regeneration and pain relief presented at the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR 2026), attracted attention from global pharmaceutical companies with high demand for disease-modifying osteoarthritis drugs (DMOADs) regarding follow-up clinical development and commercialization strategies. PRT-1309, a candidate drug for obesity and diabetes, also continued collaboration discussions with numerous pharmaceutical companies, focusing on the long-acting weight-loss pharmacokinetic (PK) data presented at the American Diabetes Association (ADA 2026).
PROTEINA CO., LTD. representative stated, “Through meetings with 28 overseas partners at this year’s BIO USA, we confirmed strong global market interest in our antibody design platform and core pipeline,” adding, “In particular, the meetings with multinational pharmaceutical companies on AI-driven antibody design are expected to lead to collaborative research outcomes based on our platform.”
