CrowdWorks, Inc. to Supply Data on Precise Robot Manipulation

Robot-trading data collected by 145 people Comprising 12,000 success stories Ready for immediate learning in LeRobot format Targeting Demand for Training in Manufacturing and Logistics Robotics

[Edaily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] CrowdWorks, Inc., an artificial intelligence (AI) tech company, is supplying a dataset of precision robotic manipulation data that can be used for physical AI training. The company plans to enhance the efficiency of robot AI development by providing the data in a format that can be used immediately for model training without any additional processing.

CrowdWorks, Inc.(355390)The company announced on the 1st that it will supply a robot precision manipulation dataset optimized for physical AI training through its “A1 Data Marketplace.”

This dataset consists of approximately 12,000 successful cases collected by 145 operators worldwide who remotely controlled robotic arms. The data is formatted in “LeRobot,” an open-source robot data format, allowing it to be used immediately for model training without any additional data processing.

CrowdWorks, Inc. highlighted its strength in ensuring both data diversity and quality. The company explained that, unlike data collected under single conditions in typical laboratory settings, this dataset was created with the participation of operators from multiple countries, making it advantageous for robots to learn general-purpose behaviors without being biased toward specific environments.

Each data point also includes metadata that individually scores factors such as completeness, speed, path efficiency, and safety. Developers can use this to train AI models not only to determine task success but also to assess the quality of the robot’s actions.

The dataset is categorized into basic and advanced data based on difficulty level. It includes a total of 12 types of scenarios, ranging from basic manipulations to high-difficulty tasks. In particular, the high-difficulty precision manipulation data covers an area that is difficult to obtain from open-source sources, and the company expects it to be highly useful for training fixed robotic arms and collaborative robots in industrial settings such as manufacturing, logistics, and semiconductors.

CrowdWorks, Inc. is expanding its robot behavior data portfolio through the A1 Data Marketplace. In addition to this dataset, the company has secured physical AI data collected in real-world physical environments, including data for dual-arm robotic grippers, sensor-glove-based data, and manipulation data for 10-fingered humanoids. It also plans to supply first-person view video data of precise hand manipulations captured using devices such as GoPro cameras.

A CrowdWorks, Inc. representative stated, “In the era of physical AI, the key challenge in advancing robot intelligence lies in securing high-quality data,” adding, “This dataset will enhance developers’ training efficiency by providing detailed quality metadata while broadly covering tasks that are practically necessary in industrial settings.”
