Global e-commerce platform Cafe24 Corp. announced on the 1st that it has signed a business partnership agreement with Japanese e-commerce solutions company NE Co., Ltd.

The two companies plan to launch the service this August by integrating Cafe24 Corp.’s premium service, “Cafe24 PRO,” with NE’s software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based e-commerce backend system, “NextEngine.” Once the integrated service is launched, Japanese e-commerce businesses will be able to handle everything from building their own global online stores to managing orders and inventory within a single environment.

The Japanese e-commerce market ranks fourth in the world and continues to grow. The company explained that this partnership is particularly significant given the steadily increasing demand for expansion into global markets, including South Korea.

Cafe24 Corp. PRO is a service that supports all aspects of e-commerce operations necessary for entering overseas markets, including building multilingual online stores, product listing, sales channel integration, search engine optimization, and marketing operations. Since it allows users to operate their own online stores with a high level of localization without requiring additional staff, it is expected to be highly useful for Japanese brands preparing to expand overseas.

NextEngine, operated by NE, is an integrated e-commerce management solution used by over 6,700 companies in Japan. It is characterized by its ability to automate sellers’ operational tasks, such as order processing, inventory management, and shipping. NE is a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Cafe24 Corp. has been expanding its infrastructure to target the Japanese market, including signing a business agreement with SBPS—a payment subsidiary of the SoftBank Group—earlier this year and adding official support for the Japanese mobile payment service PayPay. The company explained that this partnership with NE is a key collaboration in building a Japanese e-commerce ecosystem that encompasses payments, operations, and inventory management.

The partnership structure also focuses on localization. NE plans to directly introduce Cafe24 Corp. PRO to its local Japanese clients. Even after the launch of the integrated service, the two companies will expand their collaboration by establishing joint marketing and customer support systems.

Noriyoshi Higo, CEO of NE, stated, “We will create an environment that makes it easier for NextEngine’s clients to venture into overseas sales,” adding, “Using this partnership as a springboard, we will actively support Japanese e-commerce businesses in their global expansion, and together, our two companies will open up new possibilities in the Asian e-commerce market.”

Lee Jae-seok, CEO of Cafe24 Corp., said, “With this integration, Japanese e-commerce operators will be able to handle everything—from setting up overseas online stores to product listing, marketing, and inventory and order management—as a single, seamless process.” He added, “We hope this partnership will serve as a new starting point for a cross-border e-commerce ecosystem connecting the Korean and Japanese markets, and beyond, the broader Asian market.”
