Studio C1, the production company behind “Flame Baseball,” issued a statement on the 1st, saying, “The production team took the recent issues involving Baejae High School very seriously and has decided not to air the Baejae High School episode, which was scheduled to air on the 6th.”
The “Flame Fighters,” the team featured on “Flame Baseball,” faced off against Baejae High School at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 7th. The game was previously broadcast on SBS Plus’s “Special Live Broadcast of Flame Baseball.” An edited version of the game was scheduled to be released on the production company Studio C1’s YouTube channel, but the decision to release it has become uncertain following the controversy surrounding the Baejae High School baseball team.
Previously, on the 29th, during the 81st Cheongryonggi National High School Baseball Tournament held at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul, some Baejae High School players sparked controversy by dancing to their cheer song during a game against Gwangju Jeil High School and chanting, “Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go to Starbucks” and “Tank Day.”
Ultimately, as the controversy spread, it was decided not to air the segment featuring Baejae High School.
“Flame Baseball” is scheduled to release the “Seongnam High School” episode on Monday, the 13th, at 8 p.m.
