UNISON CO., LTD. to Supply 25 13.6MW-Class Turbines to the 340MW Hanbit Offshore Wind Farm

Largest Offshore Wind Turbine Supply for a Single Project Since the Company's Inception 2.2 Trillion Won Offshore Wind Farm to Be Built in Yeonggwang, South Jeolla Province Plans Underway to Build New Production Plant with Annual Capacity of 1 GW… Plans to Hire Over 250 People

[Edaily Park Sun-Yeop Reporter] UNISON CO., LTD. ( UNISON CO., LTD.(018000)), a company specializing in wind power generation, will supply 25 13.6MW-class offshore wind turbines for the 340MW Hanbit Offshore Wind Project. This project is expected to be UNISON CO., LTD.’s largest single offshore wind turbine supply contract since the company’s founding.
UNISON CO., LTD. announced on the 1st that it plans to supply offshore wind turbines to the Hanbit Offshore Wind Project, which was selected in the first half of 2026 through a government-led competitive bidding process for offshore wind power.

The Hanbit Offshore Wind Project is a 340-MW fixed offshore wind farm being developed in the waters near Anma Island and Songi Island in Nakwol-myeon, Yeonggwang County, South Jeolla Province. With a total project cost of approximately 2.2 trillion won, construction is scheduled to begin in July 2027, with completion targeted for December 2029.
The annual power generation capacity is 834 GWh, enough to power approximately 230,000 households. The project is also expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 410,000 metric tons annually.
It is reported that this bidding process, aligned with the government’s policy to expand offshore wind power, incorporated key evaluation factors such as strengthening the domestic industrial ecosystem and contributions to the supply chain. UNISON CO., LTD. will be responsible for supplying turbines for the Hanbit Offshore Wind Power project in collaboration with Myeongun Industrial Development.
To address the large-scale offshore wind turbine market, UNISON CO., LTD. is pursuing product commercialization and the establishment of a domestic production base based on a 15 MW-class offshore wind turbine technology transfer agreement signed with Bensis. The company plans to establish a supply system for large-scale offshore wind turbines by combining the results of this technology transfer with its in-house manufacturing, supply, and operation and maintenance (O&M) capabilities.
The company also plans to build a new wind turbine manufacturing plant as part of this project. The new plant is expected to have an annual production capacity of 1 GW and aims to directly employ more than 250 people.
The plant is scheduled to produce the company’s current flagship product, the 4.2 MW onshore wind turbine; the 10 MW offshore wind turbine currently undergoing demonstration; and the 15 MW offshore wind turbine for the Hanbit Offshore Wind Farm. The company is also considering expanding its production scope to include next-generation product lines, such as the 20 MW offshore wind turbine and the 6 MW onshore wind turbine, which are currently under development as part of a national R&D project.
UNISON CO., LTD. expects that once the production plant is fully operational, it will be able to secure both cost competitiveness and supply stability based on a steady volume of production. The company also plans to contribute to revitalizing the offshore wind industry ecosystem by expanding domestic production of key components, fostering shared growth with partner companies, and promoting local investment and job creation.
Kim Byung-ju, CEO of UNISON CO., LTD., stated, “This project is the result of UNISON CO., LTD.’s response to the emergence of the domestic offshore wind market, built on the technological expertise and supply capabilities we have accumulated over the past 40 years by focusing solely on wind turbines.” He added, “We will stably supply turbines to Hanbit Offshore Wind and, through the establishment of a new production plant and the expansion of our domestic production base, contribute to the widespread adoption of offshore wind power and the strengthening of the local industrial ecosystem.”
