[Edaily Reporter Kim Ji-woo ] CJ LOGISTICS is leveraging its logistics capabilities to support job creation for people with developmental disabilities. Under this initiative, when customers donate unused clothing and household goods, CJ LOGISTICS collects and delivers the items, and the proceeds from their sale are used to support the independence of people with developmental disabilities.
CJ LOGISTICS(000120)The company announced on the 1st that it is launching “We’re Coming,” a customer-participation donation campaign, in collaboration with Woori Financial Group and the Milal Welfare Foundation.
This campaign is part of a memorandum of understanding signed by the three companies last April to create jobs for people with developmental disabilities and promote a culture of giving. The proceeds from the sale of customer-donated items will be used to create stable jobs and support the independence of people with developmental disabilities.
Woori Financial Group is supporting the operation of online donation channels and campaign promotion, while CJ LOGISTICS is responsible for collecting and delivering donated items. The Milal Welfare Foundation is in charge of sorting and selling the donated items, and will use the proceeds to employ people with developmental disabilities at 49 Goodwill Stores nationwide.
Customers wishing to participate in this month’s campaign can collect unused clothing, miscellaneous items, and household goods and apply to donate via the campaign banner in the “One App” or “Woori WON Banking” app. Two hundred donors will be selected via a random drawing to receive CJ Corp. gift cards and Goodwill donation box merchandise.
A CJ LOGISTICS spokesperson stated, “We decided to participate in this campaign so that our customers’ small donations can lead to greater social value through our logistics network,” adding, “We will continue to expand our ESG activities in partnership with local communities by leveraging CJ LOGISTICS’s logistics capabilities.”
