Using the cold-drawing process—which involves precision-machining bar stock or tube stock by passing it through a die—the company manufactures products used in automotive shock absorbers, suspension systems, and steering systems, and is building a supply chain with global automakers and parts manufacturers. The company’s growth is anchored in its Mexican production hub. In 2014, YulChon co., Ltd became the first company in South Korea’s cold-drawn steel tube industry to establish a subsidiary in Mexico, and in 2016, it completed construction of a local factory, establishing an integrated production system encompassing both drawing and tube forming. Through this, the company has strengthened its responsiveness to the North and Central American automotive parts supply chain and secured a competitive edge through localization. The expansion of its overseas operations has led to growth in performance. Despite a slowdown in the global automotive market, YulChon co., Ltd recorded sales of 793 billion won in 2025, marking approximately a 2.7-fold increase compared to 2020 (286 billion won). Along with expanding its existing businesses, the company is also working to secure new growth engines. Through a government-funded project, it has established a technological foundation for seamless tube manufacturing and is currently installing related production facilities at its Hwaseong plant in Gyeonggi Province. Seamless tubes are steel pipes without welded seams; they are high-value-added products used in the automotive and industrial equipment sectors, where high durability and reliability are required. YulChon co., Ltd. expects to complete the installation of production facilities in the second half of this year and anticipates generating significant revenue starting in 2027. The establishment of a production base in Poland to target the European market has also entered its final stages. The local plant, being developed based on the Polish subsidiary established in 2022, is scheduled for completion in the second half of this year and is expected to have an annual production capacity of 24,000 metric tons of rolled tubes and 16,000 metric tons of drawn tubes. The company forecasts that once the Polish plant completes trial production and begins mass production, it will contribute to earnings starting in the first half of 2027. When the plant becomes operational, a global three-hub production system connecting South Korea, Mexico, and Europe will be complete. Lee Heung-hae, CEO of YulChon co., Ltd, stated, “We have established a stable revenue structure based on our production hub in Mexico,” adding, “We will expand the proportion of high-value-added products through the mass production of seamless tubes and strengthen our penetration of the European market centered on the Polish plant to solidify our foundation for mid- to long-term growth.”
