On the 1st, PharmaResearch announced that it had signed an acquisition agreement with the U.S. cosmetics manufacturer “Cosmetic Group USA” (hereinafter “CG USA”). CG USA is a cosmetics manufacturer with production facilities in California, USA, and possesses the production capabilities to handle everything from product planning and formula development to manufacturing, filling, packaging, and quality control. In addition to holding a cosmetics manufacturing license, it possesses manufacturing infrastructure capable of producing over-the-counter (OTC) products, based on an FDA-registered facility and a quality management system that complies with Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards.
PharmaResearch decided to proceed with this acquisition to reliably meet the growing demand for Rejuran Cosmetics, which has been expanding recently, particularly through Sephora and Amazon channels. While the company has previously supplied products manufactured in South Korea to the U.S. market, the acquisition of CG USA secures a local production base, laying the groundwork to enhance supply chain efficiency and market responsiveness across production, logistics, and distribution. The company plans to actively pursue a localization strategy in the Americas to expand into North and South American markets, including Canada.
Son Ji-hoon, CEO of PharmaResearch, stated, “Through the acquisition of CG USA, PharmaResearch has established a local production base to support our expansion into the North American market, while also securing the potential to expand our ODM business in the U.S. over the medium to long term.” He added, “It is also significant that, as CG USA possesses an FDA-registered facility and OTC production capabilities, we have laid the groundwork to expand our production scope beyond cosmetics to include over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals.”
Meanwhile, Cosmo Group Inc. served as the financial advisor for this acquisition, and the parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value.
