Expanding from Reality Shows, ASMR, and Talk Shows to K-Beauty and Lifestyle Improved Navigation Convenience Through Enhanced Curation and Playlist Features

[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] CJ ENM CO., Ltd.(035760)’s global K-pop content platform, “Mnet Plus,” is expanding its content scope from K-pop to lifestyle to enhance the experience for global fans.

EMNET INC. is rapidly expanding its content spectrum by increasing its original content across various genres, including reality shows, ASMR, talk shows, as well as horror, mystery, travel, and survival programs.

Since launching original content in earnest in 2025, cumulative views have approached approximately 190 million, and views in the first half of 2026 increased by about 2.7 times compared to the same period last year.

The platform has strengthened its competitiveness as a content hub by integrating K-pop-related content—such as Mnet broadcast IP, concerts, KCON, and the MAMA AWARDS—with original variety shows like “Hide and Seek” and “Wanna One Go: Back to Base” through streaming and VOD services.

In particular, original content depicting artists’ daily lives and relationships has resonated with global fans, and a second season of “Hide and Seek” has already been confirmed.

Global expansion is also gaining momentum. Mnet Plus is connecting fans worldwide with music-based content such as “Show Me the Money 12” and “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN: Shinsegae Co.,Ltd,” thereby creating a content consumption environment that transcends national and linguistic boundaries.

In line with the growing influence of K-POP, the platform is now expanding its content scope to include lifestyle content. The newly launched “Yeonji Gonji: YZKZ” channel will feature five new series in short-form formats, showcasing K-POP artists’ daily lives—including beauty routines, daily habits, and personal tastes.

The platform’s usability has also been improved. Through an update to the Play tab, EMNET INC. has enhanced the discovery feature for vertical short-form videos and introduced ranking-based content—such as the “Global Top 10”—to make it easier for users to find popular videos. Additionally, the platform has improved the playlist feature, which groups videos by topic of interest, to increase the efficiency of content discovery.

An Mnet Plus representative stated, “As fans’ tastes become more diverse, we are focusing on expanding our content while improving the ease of discovery,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our competitiveness as a global K-POP platform based on our content planning capabilities and user experience.”
