[Edaily Marketin Reporter KIM YEON-SEO ] SamsungSecurities (AA+) achieved a successful public offering of corporate bonds, receiving orders totaling over 1.8 trillion won during the bookbuilding process. This strong demand is attributed to expectations for improved earnings driven by favorable conditions in the securities industry and the company’s strong AA+ credit rating, which attracted significant interest from institutional investors.

According to the investment banking (IB) industry on the 2nd, SamsungSecurities conducted a book-building process for the issuance of corporate bonds totaling 300 billion won and secured a total of 1.87 trillion won in buy orders.

By tranche, the 2-year tranche (1000억 won target) received 5800억 won in orders, the 3-year tranche (1500억 won target) received 1조 1100억 won, and the 5-year tranche (500억 won target) received 1800억 won. In particular, the 3-year tranche alone attracted over 1조 won in funds, driving the overall success of the offering.

SamsungSecurities filled the orders at par for the 2-year tranche, -2 basis points for the 3-year tranche, and +4 basis points for the 5-year tranche. Despite a recent slight cooling of investor sentiment in the credit market, analysts note that selective demand for high-quality securities bonds remains robust.

SamsungSecurities plans to use the funds raised through this corporate bond issuance to repay existing debt, including corporate bonds and electronic short-term notes. In its securities registration statement, the company stated, “The total planned issuance amount for the 25-1st, 25-2nd, and 25-3rd series of unsecured corporate bonds being issued by our company is 3000억원, and these funds are scheduled to be used for debt repayment.”
