On the 3rd, the production team of ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama *Dream for You* released character stills of Lee Hye-ri in her role as “Joo Yi-jae,” a reporter struggling to make ends meet.
“Dream for You” is a romantic comedy depicting the story of the reunion between genius film director Woo Su-bin (played by Hwang In-yeop), who has returned after fulfilling his dreams, and Joo Yi-jae, a reporter struggling to make ends meet who has forgotten her own dreams. Director Yoo Seon-dong of “Trigger” and “The Marvelous Rumor 1 & 2” is at the helm, while writer Jeong Eun-bi—who contributed to the scripts for “One Day, the End of the World Came to My Doorstep,” “Mr. Sunshine,” and “Goblin”—is penning the screenplay.
The released stills capture the attention with Ju Yi-jae, a hardworking reporter who possesses both passion and talent but is struggling as she regrets her past. The still also shows a teenage Ju Yi-jae—who feared nothing when she had nothing but her dreams—wearing a school uniform and striking a mischievous pose. Joo Yi-jae, who once harbored dreams of becoming a film director but was thwarted by the harsh realities of life, is now living a dynamic life in her 30s while carrying the emptiness of unfulfilled dreams. For some reason, the sight of Joo Yi-jae lying on the mudflats, fully basking in the blazing sunlight, draws the viewer’s attention. Next, a scene of the present-day Joo Yi-jae having a serious conversation with someone at a noodle restaurant sparks curiosity.
Lee Hye-ri introduced the drama, saying, “‘A Dream for You’ is a drama that gives people dreams,” and added, “I think it’s a work that allows everyone to recall what dreams they once had and return to their dream-filled childhood to let their imagination run wild.” She continued, “Joo Jae is someone who doesn’t lose sight of her dreams even while compromising with reality,” adding, “I thought it was admirable that she works hard at the tasks given to her, even if her current situation isn’t the ideal one she once dreamed of. ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama *Dream for You* premieres this coming Monday, the 13th, at 10 p.m. on ENA.
