[Edaily Reporter Hyera Lee ] Udumji Farm ( WooDeumGee Farm Co., Ltd(403490)) announced on the 6th that it has begun a feasibility study (F/S) for land acquisition to develop smart farms in the Borikhamxay and Saravan provinces of Laos.

The company has selected 150 hectares out of the total planned area of 6,000 hectares in Borikhamxay Province and 2,000 hectares out of the 17,400 hectares in Saravan Province as priority survey sites. This survey is part of an agricultural development project being carried out in collaboration with the Lao government, with the total planned development area for the two regions amounting to 23,400 hectares.
Through this survey, WooDeumGee Farm Co., Ltd plans to comprehensively review factors such as soil, climate, water availability, and logistics infrastructure before finalizing a master plan for the construction of smart farms.
The company’s strategy is to establish production complexes for high-value-added agricultural products—such as tropical fruits and European vegetables—suited to the local environment, using smart farm technologies based on artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data.
An official from WooDeumGee Farm Co., Ltd stated, “The feasibility studies in Borikhamxay and Saravan provinces mark an important first step in fully launching our Laos operations,” adding, “We will carefully review local conditions to build the optimal smart farm infrastructure and expand the K-Smart Farm model into the global market.”
