The conference was attended by global medical device companies such as Roche, BD, and ShinLab, as well as approximately 500 clinical pathology experts from Latin America. During the approximately 90-minute workshop, Noul Co., Ltd. showcased the technological capabilities and clinical value of miLab CER through a product introduction, presentations on clinical application cases, and live demonstrations.

During the workshop, Dr. Julio, a clinical pathologist and president of the Latin American Federation of Clinical Laboratory Medicine (COLABIOCLI), presented the results of actual clinical evaluations and usage experiences from Panama. According to the presentation, miLab CER achieved 100% sensitivity and 96.9% specificity in performance evaluations, with a 97% agreement rate compared to conventional optical microscopy readings, confirming its potential to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cervical cancer screening even in settings with limited access to healthcare.

Officials from Peru’s Ministry of Health also attended the event to discuss practical applications of AI-based cervical cancer diagnosis in the field. Immediately following the workshop, a contract was signed with a local distributor to purchase miLab CER demonstration units for establishing an initial reference database. The company explained that this reaffirmed the product’s competitiveness and the potential for market expansion in Latin America.

Lim Chan-yang, CEO of Noul Co., Ltd., stated, “Latin America is a key market with high demand for expanding national-level cervical cancer screening and improving access to public healthcare,” adding, “Based on collaboration with leading experts, we will lead the standardization of AI-based cervical cancer diagnosis in Latin America and further strengthen our market position.”

Meanwhile, Noul Co., Ltd. is conducting a pilot project in collaboration with the Panamanian Ministry of Health using miLab CER to verify its applicability to national screening programs. Based on these results, the company plans to expand its penetration of the AI-based digital diagnostics market in Latin America.
