[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] BENO TNR(206400)hit its daily price limit following news of a change in its largest shareholder and a 10 billion won rights offering.
According to MP Doctor on the 6th, as of 9:09 a.m., BENO TNR is trading at 1,323 won, up 29.96% from the previous trading day.
Investor sentiment was spurred by the change in the largest shareholder and a third-party private placement, both announced after the market closed on the 3rd.
BENO TNR announced that it had signed a share transfer agreement to transfer 4,782,496 shares (a 12.75% stake), previously held by its former largest shareholder, Lamicus, and one other individual, to Acro New Technology Fund No. 241. The price per share is 7,100 won, and the total transaction amount is approximately 33.96 billion won; once the balance is paid in full, Acro New Technology Fund No. 241 will become the new largest shareholder.
On the same day, the company also decided to conduct a third-party private placement worth approximately 10 billion won for Acro New Technology Fund No. 241. It will issue 11,737,089 new shares at 852 won per share, and the funds raised will be used for working capital. All newly issued shares will be subject to a one-year lock-up period.
The market is taking note of the combination of a change in the largest shareholder and the inflow of new capital, interpreting this as a sign of improved investor sentiment.
In particular, the decision to acquire the shares held by the previous largest shareholder at 7,100 won per share—a price significantly higher than the day’s trading price—is interpreted as a signal that the new investor values the company’s enterprise value higher than the current stock price.
Furthermore, since the new shares will be subject to a one-year lock-up period, concerns about short-term overhang (potential selling pressure) appear to be limited, which is also viewed positively.
