The Wavve Original “Game of Blood X,” which premiered on the 3rd, ranked first in the “Game of Blood” series in terms of new paid subscriptions driven during its first week of release (3rd–5th). Wavve stated, “It also ranked first across all genres in both viewing time and number of viewers.”
“Blood Game” is a survival series that depicts an extreme survival game featuring the best of the best in both mental and physical prowess, set against unpredictable rules and meticulous designs. This season returns with a team-based format, pitting Teams P1, P2, and P3—composed of representative players from Seasons 1, 2, and 3—against the Challenger (C) Team and the Rookie (R) Team.
The 20 players, boasting an all-time great lineup, captivated viewers in Episodes 1 and 2—which aired today—by showcasing everything from “The Blood Game’s” signature “Chair Escape” first-come, first-served game to the first Money Challenge, “Running Mate.”
Episodes 1 and 2, which were released, began with “Chair Escape”—the first-come, first-served game that is a signature mission of “Blood Game”—followed by the first Money Challenge, “Running Mate.” Each team engaged in fierce competition to enter the mansion, and from the very start, fortunes varied by team, marking the full-scale beginning of the ruthless survival dynamic unique to “Blood Game X.” In particular, Team Rookie (R) finished last in the first mission, forcing them to begin an extreme survival struggle from the ruins and heightening curiosity about whether they would be able to stage a comeback.
In “Running Mate,” the first Money Challenge game where teams had to earn points through psychological warfare and alliance strategies, Team P3 secured the victory after forming balanced alliances with Teams P2 and C. Meanwhile, Lee Sang-min, returning to the survival show after an 11-year hiatus, attempted to shake up the game with his strategy but, contrary to expectations, found himself in a crisis as he faced opposition from other teams.
Teams P1, P2, and C, which failed to win, had to nominate one candidate each for the death match according to the rules, leaving each team in a dilemma. Amidst this, signs of “internal strife” emerged within Team P2. While Ha Seung-jin volunteered to go to the death match, Yoon Bi and Hyun Seong-ju suggested, “Let’s send Lee Jin-hyung to the death match to settle the karma from Season 2.” With Yoon Bi and Hyun Seong-ju secretly rearranging the Death Match lineup behind Lee Jin-hyung’s back—a move that delivered a “major twist”—all eyes are now on which players from each team will face the first Death Match and who will be the first to be eliminated.
The 20 players are divided into five teams and are set to begin the survival competition in earnest. Lee Sang-min, Jeong Geun-woo, Park Ji-min, and Lee Tae-kyun; Ha Seung-jin, Hyun Seong-ju, Yoon Bi, and Lee Jin-hyung; and Hong Jin-ho, Seo Chul-gu, Choi Hye-sun, and Heo Seong-beom will appear as Teams P1, P2, and P3, respectively. Following them, the Challenger Team—Kim Kyung-hoon, Kim Yu-hyun, Kim Nam-hee, and Kang Ji-hoo—and the Rookie Team—Kwak Beom, Lee Kwan-hee, Shin Seung-yong, and Choi Yeon-cheong—are each hinting at different strategies.
