[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] #AI Korea Co., Ltd. announced on the 6th that it will supply its 3D vision-based mixed palletizing automation robot solution to a production plant operated by a major domestic food conglomerate in collaboration with LG Corp. and CLOBOT Co., Ltd.
This project is part of an initiative led by LG Corp. to build logistics automation facilities at a major food conglomerate’s new plant. AI Korea Co., Ltd. plans to implement its proprietary 3D vision recognition technology in the mixed palletizing process to build an automation solution optimized for the factory environment. The solution being supplied is an integrated logistics automation system that combines high-precision 3D vision technology with mixed palletizing hardware designed and manufactured in-house by AI Korea Co., Ltd. Based on the company’s proprietary 3D spatial coordinate generation technology, it analyzes the product’s position, height, orientation, shape, and loading status in real time to calculate the robot’s optimal path.
This technology uses an “Active Stereo” method—employing a DLP structured light projector and two 8-megapixel machine vision cameras—to generate a high-density 3D point cloud. The company explained that by applying AI-based stereo matching and calibration algorithms, it has reduced recognition errors caused by changes in lighting and can achieve a precision of within 1 mm even at heights of up to 5 meters.
In particular, the system can precisely analyze Daesangs that are difficult for conventional vision equipment to recognize—such as white boxes, transparent containers, and metal surfaces—making it applicable to a wide range of manufacturing and logistics environments.
Mixed palletizing is a highly complex automation process that requires real-time recognition of products with varying sizes, weights, and loading sequences to calculate the optimal loading pattern. AI Korea Co., Ltd. plans to use this supply as an opportunity to secure a track record at major corporations’ production sites and expand its scope of application to manufacturing plants, food processing facilities, logistics centers, and smart factories.
AI Korea Co., Ltd. official stated, “This supply marks the starting point for the full-scale launch of our logistics automation robot business,” adding, “Through an integrated solution that links everything from load status analysis to robot picking position calculation and process control within a single system, we will enhance productivity, operational accuracy, and the stability of automation processes for manufacturing and logistics companies.”
