[E-Daily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] LG HelloVision(037560)is stepping up its digital content competitiveness by launching a new original web variety show titled “Fiery Junior” on its YouTube channel “Hello Life.”
LG HelloVision announced on the 6th that it has released the original web variety show “Fiery Junior” through its YouTube channel “HelloLife,” which has 1.04 million subscribers. HelloLife is a YouTube channel that has currently recorded approximately 1.43 billion cumulative views.
“Fiery Junior” is a reality variety show in which comedian Choi Yang-rak—who has been active for over 40 years—transforms into “Choi Maknae,” a 25-year-old new employee born in 2001, and works for a day at various companies and in different job roles. The show is characterized by its use of a mock-documentary format to explore the daily lives of office workers and corporate culture through the eyes of an outsider placed within the organization.

Leveraging Choi Yang-rak’s signature witty banter and authentic reactions, the program naturally captures the generational gaps and organizational culture that arise when a 40-year broadcasting veteran becomes the youngest employee in his 20s. In particular, the process of learning the ropes and adapting under the guidance of a mentor from the MZ generation is expected to foster intergenerational communication and empathy.
Each episode features a visit to a different company, where the cast experiences a full day at work from clock-in to clock-out. The show plans to introduce various industries, including beauty, firefighting, and manufacturing. The first episode, released on the 2nd, featured the cast directly participating in design meetings, model photo shoots, and product inspection and packaging at a jewelry company.
Through its YouTube channel “Hello Life”—the first in the pay-TV industry to surpass 1 million subscribers—LG HelloVision has been consistently releasing in-house productions such as “Ji-hye’s Picks” and “Ji Sang-ryeol’s Gills.” The company’s strategy is to strengthen its competitiveness in digital media by expanding its original content, which spans both short-form and long-form formats.
Choi Hye-jeong, a producer at Hello Life, said, “By setting up a scenario where a 40-year veteran learns the ropes from a junior colleague in their 20s, we’ve created a show that offers a different kind of relatability and humor compared to conventional workplace variety shows,” adding, “We plan to continue introducing a variety of original content that anyone can relate to and enjoy.”
